ARTIST EDITION # 5

Art & Australia has commissioned ni-Vanuatu weavers from Mataso Island (Shepherd Islands), Mataso-Ohlen (Port Vila) and Unakapu Village (Nguna Island off Efate's north coast) to create a limited edition commemorative basket, with profits returning to this South Pacific island community.

Edition details: Dye and pandanus, colours and dimensions variable. Edition of 100. $80 incl. the December issue of A&A and GST. Plus postage.

The edition consists of a screen-printed Belgian linen bag with cotton lining, containing various found and constructed elements, with slight variation. It contains 4 elements: a lithograph poster, a CD and a handmade zine. Edition of 50, signed with a numbered certificate.
 
This commissioned edition complements a sculpture commission for Art & Australia's March 2007 issue cover, entitled Guido Valdez (Vendetta for love), 2006. The concept for this edition was to create a 'fan bag' or 'show bag' for Guido Valdez.
